In dreams you meet many people and see many things, but they are all part you. Dreams are in fact stories of your real life that are metaphorically told from the viewpoint of your inner-self. In my dreams, for instance, New York City was depicted as Pompeii in ruins, a TV as a pilotless bomber, smartphones as sex toys for orphans, and I (female) as a male actor with huge testicles who is playing woman's role in a dress. Without seeing our 'reality' through the eyes of dreams, we will never know what our 'reality' really means.
RIAKI (Riaki Enyama) is a Japanese artist based in New York City and Japan. She has kept a detailed daily dream diary since 2004 and studied dream analysis since 2006 under Yoshihiro Kato who was the founder of Tantric Dream School. All her works are based on her dreams and her dream interpretative practices. Her works has been exhibited in museums, galleries and film/music festivals internationally, such as Revolution and Sexual Revolution Film Festival in Tokyo, LeRoy Neiman Gallery in New York City, Bakalar & Pine Galleries in Boston, Inside Out Museum in Beijing, Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina in Serbia and so on. She received her MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts (New York City, U.S.A) in 2013, and her BFA from Tama Art University (Tokyo, Japan) in 2005.
